Persaud

It seems as though no religion is exempt from the fringe in its own membership who are referred to as fanatics.  We tend to feel at ease when we hear of extremists in “other” religions.  However, there are some who say that extremists are embedded in all religions.

The Proximate Cause of DJ AMs Death

Goldstein in February, 2007 - Wikipedia

When DJ AM (Adam Michael Goldstein) was a child, his father verbally abused him, which Goldstein called “unbelievably cruel.”  His father abused drugs and was secretly a homosexual.

Goldstein started deejaying at 20.  During his early 20s, Goldstein battled an addiction to drugs, specifically crack cocaine.  At one point, he attempted suicide, but was unsuccessful when the gun did not go off.  Shortly thereafter, he became sober, began attending AA meetings, and dedicated himself to working as a DJ.  After getting clean, DJ AM was sober for more than 11 years and was held up as a positive example for the recovery process.

He began dating socialite Nicole Richie in 2003 and announced their engagement in February, 2005.  However, the couple broke up in late 2006.

The Proximate Cause of Joaquin Rivera’s Death

Joaquin Rivera - www.philly.com

Joaquin Rivera, 63, died while waiting to see a doctor in the emergency room at Aria Health’s Frankford Campus in Philadelphia on Saturday, November 28, 2009.  Videotape clearly shows Rivera going into distress at 10:56 p.m. just 11 minutes after he signed in.  At 11:45 p.m., nearly 50 minutes after Rivera stopped moving, hospital personnel noticed that he was dead.  I extend my sympathies to Mr. Rivera’s family.

Mr. Rivera, who friends said had been close to retirement, worked as a bilingual counseling assistant at Olney High School and was a popular guitarist in the city’s Puerto Rican community.

The Donda West law falls short

Donda West - hiphop.popcrunch.com

On November 10, 2007, Dr. Donda West died.  Donda, mother of entertainer Kanye West, reportedly suffered complications  following a tummy tuck, liposuction and breast reduction.  The procedures were performed by a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Jan Adams.

It was reported that Dr. West, who was 58 years old, did not heed the advice of Dr. Andre Abloolian who recommended that she get medical clearance from her internist before surgery.  West allegedly ignored Abloolian’s advice, and instead, sought the services of Dr. Jan Adams, who went ahead and performed the three procedures on West.  The next day, Dr. West was dead.
